CLASH Endurance Miami Crowns Multiple Champions During Weekend-Long Endurance Festival

March 31, 2025

March 31, 2025 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Nearly 2,500 decorated Olympians, collegiate standouts and weekend warriors along with 3,000 spectators from across the U.S. and more than 26 countries took part in CLASH Endurance events at the Homestead Miami Speedway.  A fitness expo complete with vendors, food trucks, product sampling and more entertained those on-site with partners such as Ameriprise, Foundation Risk Partners and Florida Sports Foundation. Weather conditions varied from sunshine to light rain, cloud cover and gusty winds throughout the weekend.

The America’s Triathlon Cup Miami took competitors on a draft-legal sprint-distance triathlon comprised of a 750m swim, a 20km bike and 5km run all within the speedway. Notable athletes saw gusty conditions during their journey for valuable ranking points to determine their eligibility to enter the World Triathlon Championship Series events, World Triathlon Cup events and World Triathlon Continental Championship events. Females took to the line first with American, Gina Sereno leading out of the swim. Several groups were seen on the bike while Olympic Medalist, Gwen Jorgensen (USA) dominated the run with a finish time of 55:41. Mexico’s Marcela Alvarez Solis placed 2nd at 55:45 and Danielle Orie from the U.S. crossed at 55:55. On the men’s side, Igor Dupuis of France led the field out of the swim and while three difference packs formed on the cycling leg, they were unable to hold off stellar running form from American, Reese Vanneson. His first-place time of 49:54 was followed by Dupois in 2nd with a time of 50:12 and just behind in 3rd was American, Darr Smith with 50:14.

More than 100 colleges/universities brought their triathlon teams to the Collegiate Club National Championships through either a draft-legal or Olympic-distance event. Clare Anne Dasso of Queens University of Charlotte crossed the line in the draft-legal portion with an impressive 58:55 and UCLA’s Edoardo G. Leone completed the same race in just 52:00. In the Olympic distance, Annie Meeder of Univ. of Colorado (Boulder) worked diligently for her 2:07:58 total time while Mark Romano of the United States Air Force Academy came over the finish line at 1:51:13. AJ Cuddeback won the non-binary Olympic-distance event category with a total time of 2:40:48. And the most exciting new addition in Miami this year, groups of four student athletes had the chance to participate in a Mixed Team Relay race with each completing a super-sprint triathlon. Queens Univ. of Charlotte earned 1st place at 1:03:18, followed by Univ. of Colo (Boulder) at 1:04:59 and in 3rd, United States Naval Academy at 1:05:12.

Seven athletes competed in the USA Paratriathlon Nationals Qualifier Series with categories including PTWC, PTVI, PTS4 and PTS5.
