Chevron Houston Marathon Kicks-Off Registration for the 50th Anniversary Celebration in 2022

Guaranteed Registration Opens May 1, for Eligible Groups and Open Registration Begins in June for All Runners

Houston (April 30, 2021) – The Houston Marathon Committee (HMC) will open its first window of registration – Guaranteed Registration – for the 2022 Houston Marathon Weekend of Events this Saturday, May 1, with Open Registration available to all runners on June 2, 2021. The in-person race for the 50^th Anniversary Celebration of the Chevron Houston Marathon and the 21^st annual Aramco Houston Half Marathon will take place Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022, with the We Are Houston 5K presented by Aramco and Chevron on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022.

Registration for the 2022 Houston Marathon Weekend of Events will open in two windows.

The guaranteed application window is open May 1 – June 1, to three categories of runners:

1. 2021 registrants who deferred their 2021 entry to a future event (2022 or 2023)
2. 2021 registrants who were registered prior to the Oct. 5, 2020, virtual event announcement and transferred their registration to run their 2021 race distance virtually
3. Any individuals interested in running and fundraising on behalf of an official 2022 Chevron Houston Marathon Run for a Reason charity partner

Open registration is available to all runners on Global Running Day, June 2, 2021.

 In addition to the in-person event, the HMC will also offer a virtual registration option at $75 for the Marathon and $65 for the Half Marathon. The 2022 Virtual Houston Marathon Running Events will take place over race weekend Friday, Jan. 14 – Monday, Jan. 17. Registration for the virtual events will begin on June 2, during the open registration window.
