November 25, 2024

November 24, 2024 – NORFOLK, VIRGINIA – ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE –  The Chartway Norfolk Harbor Half Marathon Weekend presented by Bon Secours, November 23 & 24, was a massive success as 5,050 runners from 35 states gathered to take part in this sell-out event.

The race, which sold out weeks in advance, featured a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, Kids Mile and two Challenges including the Get Nauti and Nauti Lite Challenge. Participants traversed through downtown Norfolk, historic Ghent neighborhoods, the NEON District, the Elizabeth River Trail and the Old Dominion University campus, before finishing on the water at Town Point Park. The event culminated in a huge party at Town Point Park featuring live music, food, and beer, providing the perfect atmosphere for participants to relax and celebrate their hard-earned finish.

“We are thrilled with the success of this year’s Chartway Norfolk Harbor Half Marathon Weekend,” said Race Director, Jerry Frostick. “The atmosphere and camaraderie among the runners and support from our partners and community were truly inspiring. The energy of the weekend is something that can’t be replicated – it’s a unique experience that keeps people coming back year after year.”

One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of wishes to medically fragile children by the Chartway Promise Foundation. The foundation works to make dreams come true for children facing critical illnesses, providing them with once-in-a-lifetime experiences to bring joy and hope to their lives.

“It’s a privilege to join J&A Racing for an 11th consecutive year to bring this event to life as title sponsor,” said Brian Schools, president & CEO of Chartway Credit Union. “Year after year, our partnership celebrates this vibrant community and helps us make a meaningful difference in the lives of medically fragile children through our Chartway Promise Foundation.”

The Chartway Norfolk Harbor Half Marathon continues to grow in popularity each year, drawing runners from far and wide to experience the charm of Norfolk and support a great cause. The event will return November 22 & 23, 2025. For more information, please visit norfolkharborhalf.com
