Carnival Spirit on Full Display at the 2025 Baton Rouge General Mardi Gras Mambo

Baton Rouge, LA  (February 18, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – A parade of runners flooded downtown Baton Rouge this morning for the Baton Rouge General Mardi Gras Mambo. Over 1500 runners embraced the festive spirit, tackling the 15K, 10K, or the Raising Cane’s 1 Mile Fun Run.

Beyond the thrill of the race, participants celebrated in true Louisiana fashion. The post-race festivities featured ice-cold Abita Beer, delectable Caluda’s King Cake, and the infectious energy of the Brasshearts Brass Band, all part of the Baton Rouge Clinic Finish Fest Carnival.

The 10K race witnessed Braden Scalisi of Alexandria seizing first place for the men in 35:46. Daniel Forman from Baton Rouge secured second place in 36:49, and Joshua Andrews of Baton Rouge claimed third in 37:40.

Courtney Cobb of Lafyette led the women’s 10K finishers, taking first place in 39:46. Baton Rouge’s Jenna Walker grabbed second place in 42:26 while Melissa Lemoine of Baton Rouge earned third place in 45:34.

Baton Rouge’s Christopher Stephens blazed across the finish line in the 15K with an impressive time of 57:17, securing the top spot for the men. Justin Fraser of New Orleans followed closely behind, earning second place in 58:19, while Tyler Beatty from Denham Springs took third with a time of 59:55

In the women’s 15K, Meggan Franks of Zachary showcased her strength, capturing first place in a remarkable time of 1:06. Kaitlin Hoover from Baton Rouge earned an impressive second place in 1:07. and Kayce Raby of Baton Rouge rounded out the top three with a stellar time of 1:09.

The Baton Rouge General Mardi Gras Mambo embodies the spirit of Carnival while inspiring individuals of all ages to embrace an active lifestyle.
