bRUNchatarians Rejoice at the Introduction of The bRUNch Olympics

bRUNch Running and sodisp.com launches 2-week challenge where track events meet cooking competition to win prizes
DENVER – July 14, 2021- bRUNch Running, a Denver-based running community, launches The bRUNch Olympics, a 2-week challenge filled with daily track events or cooking competitions. From July 23 – August 8, bRUNchatarians across the United States will compete in individual and team events to see what they are made of. Awards will be given for each event and challenge. Participants will win prizes like grocery store gift cards, massage guns, pancake mix prize packs, running gear, insulated coffee mugs and sunglasses.
The bRUNch Olympics kicks off with an Opening Ceremony on July 23 featuring videos from participants. Each day, participants will be presented with a new running event or challenge, which they will have all day to complete.
bRUNch Running has partnered with sodisp.com (the challenge and hybrid event platform) to host all running challenges for The bRUNch Olympics. The sodisp platform offers a single unified platform to collect data of the auto-synced activities from participant’s GPS trackers like COROS, Strava, MapMyRun, etc. to create up-to-the-minute leaderboards packaged with a range of social engagement features to keep participants engaged from start to finish.
Participants do not have to participate in all the challenges but they can.
Schedule of Events
July 23 – Opening Ceremony
Things will kick off on Friday, July 23 at 10 a.m. MST on Instagram. To be featured in the Opening Ceremony submit a #laceupandrun or #laceupandbRUNch video to bRUNch Running via Instagram or text 720.704.4873.
July 24 – 800-Meter Race
Today is an 800-meter race. Lace it up and get ready to hit the “track.” Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finisher along with one random participant.
July 25 – 400-Meter Race
Today is an 800-meter race. Lace it up and get ready to hit the “track.” Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finisher along with one random participant.
July 26 – 3000-Meter Steeplechase
Today you need to get creative and create your own steeplechase course. The rules: You must have five “barriers” to jump over plus one water barrier. Submit your videos via Instagram or text. The community votes for the most creative. Prize will be awarded to the most creative.
July 27 – 1500-Meter Race
Today is a 1500-meter race. Lace it up and get ready to hit the “track.” Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finisher along with one random participant.
July 28 – Pancake Flipping
Time to take it to the kitchen today. Mix up a batch of your favorite pancakes and start flipping and filming. Submit your video via Instagram or text. The community will vote for the most creative. Prize will be awarded to the fan favorite.
July 29 – 4 x 100-Meter Relay
Today it is a team effort. You will be randomly paired with 3 teammates. Each of you will race 100 meters on your own. Prize will be awarded to the fastest team and one random team.
July 30 – 10K (10,000 meters)
Time for a distance race. Today lace it up for a 10K run along your favorite trail or road. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finisher along with one random participant.
July 31 – 4 x 400-Meter Relay
Today it is a team effort. You will be randomly paired with three teammates. Each of you will race 400 meters on your own. Prize will be awarded to the fastest team and one random team.
August 1 – 100-Meters Race
Today is a 100 meter race. Lace it up and get ready to hit the “track.” Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finisher along with one random participant.
August 2 – Spatula Throw
Inspired by the hammer throw, the Spatula Throw is a competition about strength and style. Head out to the yard or park or in your kitchen and see how far you can throw a spatula. Points will be awarded for style. Prizes will be awarded for farthest throw and best style.
August 3 – 200-Meters Race
Today is a 200 meter race. Lace it up and get ready to hit the “track.” Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finisher along with one random participant.
August 4 – The Eggtastic Battle
Eggs are a brunch staple and today we want to see your best eggtastic dish. Head into the kitchen to poach, fry, scramble and make some magic. Submit your video via Instagram or text and the community will vote for the most creative. Prize will be awarded to the most creative. Winning dish will also receive a feature on our blog.
August 5 – 5K (5,000 meters)
Time for a distance race. Today lace it up for a 5K run along your favorite trail or road. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finisher along with one random participant.
August 6 – Best Brunch Spread
It’s time to get eggcited about the weekend and show us all your skills. To share with us the best brunch spread you have ever created. Are you known for your French Toast or your Bloody Marys? Whichever it is, snap a picture and share it with us. Submit your video via Instagram or text and the community will vote for the most creative. Prize will be awarded to the most creative. Winning dish will also receive a feature on our blog.
August 7 – 2.62 Mile Race
It’s time to bring this challenge to a close and push ourselves once more. Today we run 2.62 mile in honor of the Olympic marathons this weekend. Lace it up and let’s bRUNch today! Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finisher along with one random participant.
August 8 – Closing Ceremony
Congratulations, it’s time to show us your victory! Share with us a video on Instagram or text on how you are celebrating the end of this challenge. Cheers to you!
Registration for The bRUNch Olympics is $10 and opens on Monday, July 12 at 10:00 a.m. MST and closes on Thursday, July 22 at 11:59 p.m. A dollar from every registration will be donated to the Special Olympics of Colorado.
