Borealis Fat Bikes suspends bike purchases due to tariffs

Borealis Fat Bikes said it is temporarily suspending inventory purchases for the 2025-2026 season because of the Trump administration’s tariff policies.

Borealis Founder and CEO Steve Kaczmarek said “responsible planning” is impossible in the current climate.

“With the recent tariffs, there is little definition or stability, even following President Trump’s speech on April 2nd. While I understand the objective of bringing manufacturing back to the U.S., there are some industries—like the bicycle industry—that will never be economically viable here. The administration’s failure to recognize this reality is beyond me.” BRAIN
