Industry expert shares key steps to create a paid campaign on Meta platform

February 28, 2025 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The US Trail Running Conference’s RD Master Class webinar series, presented by Marathon Printing, Inc., launched with a focused session on mastering social media marketing on Thursday, February 13. Alex Ross, Digital Marketing Director for the Colfax Marathon, shared key strategies for crafting effective paid campaigns on the Meta platform. He gave examples of how AI can be used to generate social media content and target specific demographics. The workshop gave race directors the tools to increase race participation through strategic social media engagement. The webinar series is available for all race directors and event organizers to access, and is held in partnership with the American Trail Running Association.

Ross gave examples of how AI can be used to generate social media content and target specific demographics. He then went on to share a step by step workshop on creating a paid advertising campaign on the Meta platform, using an example from the Colfax Marathon. Ross also warned of scam campaigns that can start once you initiate an advertising campaign on a platform like Meta. The presentation rounded out with Ross highlighting steps for any campaign: Know your audience; Create content for your audience; Target your ads; Analyze; and repeat.

Participants in the webinar had questions for Ross, such as: How does one boost a post or an event? Is it worth it to spend more dollars in certain instances? Is there a point at which people stop paying attention to ads?
