Sold-Out Destination Event to Celebrate 20 Years Running with Over 5,000 Athletes this Weekend
SONOMA COUNTY, CA – July 16, 2024 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – This weekend, more than 5,000 runners from 48 states and 15 countries will converge in Sonoma County for the 20th running of the Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport Napa to Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon & Rosé 5K (#STSN2S).
Celebrating two decades of running through the picturesque wine country, this milestone edition is further elevated with BMW signing on as the Official Automotive Partner for the first time in 2024. A brand known for its luxury and performance, BMW brings an added layer of prestige to the event, which is renowned for attracting an affluent demographic of athletes and wine enthusiasts.
Participants and spectators will have the exclusive opportunity to experience BMW’s innovative line-up of fully electric vehicles at the Race Expo & Packet Pick Up on Saturday, July 20 at Sonoma Plaza. The showcase continues at the finish line on Sunday, where runners will celebrate with tastings from dozens of local wineries at the post-race Wine Tasting Festival.

The Napa to Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon is one of the most prestigious races in Northern California. The 13.1-mile course begins at the opulent Cuvaison Winery in Napa, winding through miles of scenic vineyards, rustic ranches, and the Napa-Sonoma Marshes Wildlife Area. The final stretch leads runners through the spectator-lined streets of downtown Sonoma, culminating in a festive finish at Sonoma Plaza.
The weekend festivities include the Rosé 5K on Saturday, July 20, also at Sonoma Plaza, offering participants a shorter, yet equally scenic run. Sunday’s half marathon starts at 7:00am in Napa, with runners embarking on a journey through the heart of wine country, ending with the vibrant Wine Tasting Festival at Sonoma Plaza. This festival features tastings from top wineries, gourmet food trucks, and live entertainment, creating an unparalleled celebration of fitness and local culture.
Throughout its 20-year history, the Napa to Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon has raised over $25 million for various charitable causes, reinforcing its role as a significant community event.
