World Cup Stop in Ontario to Highlight Insulated Skiwear
Milan, Italy (March 17, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ — Thermore, an Italian manufacturer and pioneer in sustainable synthetic insulation, is joining with Canada’s leading ski apparel manufacturer, Karbon, to sponsor the Canadian stop for the FIS Ski Cross World Cup.
Thermore provides much of the insulation needed for Karbon’s line of ski and snowboarding apparel, ranging from the 115gsm (grams per square meter) Evodown® found in Karbon’s Quest II Ultra-Light Puffer to the Pearl II Insulated Pants, which feature the thin profile Ecodown® from Thermore, which clocks in at just 60gsm for unrestricted warmth.
“Thermore is a great partner for us, and our mutual investment in sport and technical apparel reflects just how perfectly paired the two brands are,” said Peter Schure, Vice President of Karbon.
Ski Cross World Cup arrives in Collingwood, Ontario this week, with qualifiers starting on March 12 and the finals commencing March 15th. The Canadian event, held at Craigleith Ski Club, is the event of the season. Ski Cross, which debuted in the Olympics in 2010, features frenetic side-by-side Alpine racing, big jumps and burly turns.
As the official sponsor of the volunteer program, Thermore and Karbon are proud to outfit the dedicated volunteer team with high-performance outerwear powered by Thermore’s advanced Evodown® insulation.
“We’re thrilled to launch a sponsorship in partnership with Karbon,” said Thermore’s Vice President of Global Marketing and Communications Laura Beachy. “Especially in ski cross, which is as crazy as it looks. This is an extreme event, with extreme apparel demands, and we’re looking to help the volunteers stay comfortable and have their best week possible.”
