Tucson Bicycle Classic Partners with Discover Marana to Bring Time Trial to the Chuck Huckelberry Loop

February 10, 2025, Marana, AZ /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The Tucson Bicycle Classic (TBC) is proud to announce its partnership with Discover Marana, bringing the Marana Time Trial Prologue to a brand-new section of the Chuck Huckelberry Loop. This collaboration highlights Marana’s growing role as a premier destination for cycling, outdoor recreation, and major sporting events.

The Marana Time Trial Prologue, set for February 21, 2025, will open the three-day Tucson Bicycle Classic, giving racers the opportunity to battle against the clock on a smooth, fast 4.5-mile (7.2 km) course. This immaculate course in Marana offers a scenic and spectator-friendly race environment while showcasing the latest extension of the Loop, made possible by the Town of Marana and CalPortland.

“This new partnership with Discover Marana is a perfect fit,” said Marco Colbert, Race Director of the Tucson Bicycle Classic. “Marana is known for its dedication to outdoor adventure, cycling infrastructure, and top-tier events, making it the ideal location for the kickoff stage of the Tucson Bicycle Classic.”

As one of Arizona’s premier stage races, the Tucson Bicycle Classic attracts national and international professional riders, as well as top amateur cyclists, offering an exciting opportunity for local residents and businesses to engage with the thrill of competitive cycling.

This event marks Marana’s second year of involvement in Tucson Bicycle classic, joining Rio Nuevo District, Sahuarita, and Oro Valley in welcoming thousands of spectators, racers, and support teams to Southern Arizona. This expansion underscores the region’s reputation as a world-class cycling destination.

About Tucson Bicycle Classic:

The Tucson Bicycle Classic is a 3-day competitive stage race scheduled to take place February 23 – 25, 2024. TBC is USA Cycling sanctioned, and offers equal cash purses for male and female athletes. Proceeds from this event will benefit El Grupo Youth Cycling, a nonprofit youth cycling organization in Tucson that empowers youth and encourages a lifelong love of riding.
