Scarab Cycles Introduces the Scarab Coffee Club

January 6, 2025

January 6, 2025 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Coffee, the most iconic element of Colombian culture, has always been deeply intertwined with Scarab Cycles. Often present at the start of Scarab’s shop rides, a sight along the routes around our hometown, and even inspiring our most popular paint schemes, coffee symbolizes the heart of Colombia and its cycling tradition.

Today, we are thrilled to announce that which has been a dream for some time: Scarab Coffee Club. By partnering with the family-owned Varietale coffee company – which shares Scarab’s passion for cycling and Colombian culture – we can bring some of the best specialty coffee in Colombia to the USA.

Based in Bogotá, Varietale epitomizes excellence and is renowned for its carefully curated coffee selection and outstanding cafés — a must-visit for anyone in the city. Their meticulous selection process and ever-changing offerings are inspiring. Every new batch excites us, so through the Scarab Coffee Club we will bring that same joy to our community in the USA.

The Scarab Coffee Club offers limited batches of 300g bags, freshly-roasted monthly from Varietale. Available anywhere in the USA, each volume of our coffee will retail for about $24 and we are also offering a 6-month subscription at the discounted price of $148.

The First Volume: El Cascajal

The first edition of the Scarab Coffee Club started its life at the family farm of Joan Fernando Becerra in the municipality of Santa María where it was grown at an altitude of 1,750m (5,750 feet). The crops are naturally shaded by citrus, banana, avocado, orange, and lemon trees and the entire farm is fed by natural springs on the property.

“For me, one of the most exciting parts of this work is showcasing the effort of our country’s coffee producers,” offers Varietale’s CEO Abel Calderon. “Joan, at just 25 years old, represents a new generation of young producers who are modernizing the industry, bringing updated knowledge and keeping family farms alive.”
