A Technological Leap Forward

“We’re truly looking at a new generation of timing systems,” said CEO Soenke Petersen at the product launch. “Ubidium is in a league of its own—not just compared to our previous systems but also as a new benchmark for the global market. The key innovation lies in the development of a custom-built UHF reader integrated into every segment of the foldable ground antenna. This design significantly reduces power consumption, enabling the system to operate autonomously for hours with just two batteries. The foldable antenna also excels in flexibility, adapting to course widths ranging from 1.5 to 23 meters depending on the event’s needs.

Designed for Flexibility and Ease of Use

CTO Nikias Klohr, who started working on the first concepts for a proprietary UHF reader more than a decade ago, emphasized: “This is the only reader specifically developed for sports timing. It allows us to fine-tune every parameter to perfectly match this application. The performance we achieve is simply unmatched by standard industry readers.”

Proven Performance at Major Events

During its beta phase, Ubidium has already proven its capabilities at prestigious events like the BMW Berlin Marathon. In the U.S., the system recently shone at numerous Turkey Trot races, more than 40 Ubidium systems were successfully used across the US. The system’s exceptional detection rates were remarkable, consistently surpassing the long-standing RACE RESULT Decoder 5000s in internal analyses. The Ubidium Decoder, already deployed globally as an active system for over a year, has repeatedly demonstrated its robustness and reliability.

Gradual Market Rollout
