3rd GFNY Puerto Rico closing out 2024 GFNY season of 28 races

Christopher Morales and Erialis Otero win the third edition
New York City, November 27, 2024 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The city of Ponce, hosted the third edition of GFNY Puerto Rico last Sunday. The racecourse was 130.8km with 2637m of climbing.
After the seven neutralized kilometers through the town of Ponce, the race was opened and Bryan León (Puerto Rico) initiated the first breakaway. In the chase group were five riders including 2023 GFNY Republica Dominicana champion Elvys Noel Reyes, who managed to close the gap to the front at km 22.
After several attacks it was at km 81 when Christopher Morales (Puerto Rico) launched a decisive attack, breaking away from the lead group. He crossed the finish line in a solo effort in 4:19:53 followed by Elvys Reyes and Dariel Canela (USA).
In the female race, triple GFNY champion Erialis Otero (Puerto Rico) took the win in 04:30:17 ahead of Mexican Talia Schurmann (Team GFNY). Frances Oliver Roman (Puerto Rico) rounded out the podium in third place.
GFNY Puerto concluded a big year for GFNY with 28 races in total across Asia, Europe and the Americas. For 2025, the calendar will expand to 35 races including the new GFNYs in Bremen (Germany), Pistoia (Italy) and Pittsburgh (USA). More races are still to be announced. The full 2025 calendar will be presented in January.

The 13th annual Michelob ULTRA GFNY World Championship New York will be held on May 18, 2025. The race features the world’s most international peloton with riders from over 90 countries. It is so international that it’s often described as the United Nations of cycling. Athletes take on a challenging route to compete against each other, the clock, and themselves in a personal endurance challenge.

Cycling – Pro Racing
At Gran Premio New York City, professional teams race the same course as riders at the Michelob ULTRA GFNY World Championship NYC – but with a 10-minute head start. The second edition will be held on May 18, 2025 and aims to be at 1.1 level with World Tour teams racing.
