Healdsburg Turkey Trot Runs on Thanksgiving Day

Annual 5k run supports exceptional scholar-athletes in Healdsburg, CA

Healdsburg, CA /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The Healdsburg Turkey Trot tradition continues for 2024! Now in its thirteenth year and truly a Healdsburg family tradition, the 5k fun run/walk on Thanksgiving Day, November 28^th kicks off at 8am. Start and finish are at 333 Center Street in front of Healdsburg Running Company. The course loops through the quiet streets of Healdsburg with a backdrop of Fitch Mountain and offers an appetite- building morning with fun for all.

As in past years, registered runners will receive a special commemorative long sleeve t-shirt while supplies last. Registration opens October 1. Awards are given to the top male and female finishers, as well as the top youth runners under the age of 13. Prizes are given at random for the great costumes that have become a hallmark of this event.

The Healdsburg Turkey Trot is hosted by the Rotary Club of Healdsburg Sunrise Foundation and is an all- volunteer effort that supports the Drew Esquivel Scholarship Fund, helping high-achieving Healdsburg High student-athletes fulfill their dreams of going to college. Funds raised in previous years have also supported other valuable nonprofits including Healdsburg High School Interact Club, Healdsburg High Greyhound Boosters, Farm to Fight Hunger, Reach for Home, and Healdsburg Sunrise Rotary Ideals Scholarships. 2024 Drew Esquivel Memorial Scholars are Alex Fitzpatrick at Notre Dame, Leonardo Nieto at UC Davis, Alissa Sommer Vanderbilt, and Lucas York at Cal Poly. We are very excited this year for the endowment fund to be at a point where we have committed to four years of assistance for each, totaling $10,000. In addition, support was renewed for eight of our previous Scholars: Daniel Avila at Cal Poly, Owen Efram at UC Berkeley, Luci Hagen at UC Berkeley, Sebastian Leffew at Gonzaga University, Logan Lumetta at Cal Poly, Chase Sommer at UC Davis, Sam Vanden Heuvel at George Fox University, and Tiffany Vega Ramirez at UCLA.
