DAVENPORT, IA /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – On a warm, sunny Saturday morning on July 27, at the 50th Quad-City Times Bix 7, the second stop on the PRRO Circuit 2024-25, Wesley Kiptoo of Kenya and Rachel Chebet of Uganda won the golden edition over the challenging 7 mile course, clocking 32 minutes, 27 seconds and 36:11, respectively. In addition to the $12,500 race champion’s prize from the $50,000 Open purse, each also earned eligibility for the $20,000 PRRO Super Bonus at the 2025 PRRO Championship hosted by the Boilermaker 15K in July 2025.

In the men’s race, Kiptoo, 28, took control early with a 4:46 first mile up Brady Street and never looked back as the 2024 Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10 Mile winner went unchallenged to the finish line. Mohammed Reda El Aaraby of Morocco edged American Nathan Martin for second, both timed in 32:43. Defending men’s Bix 7 champion Biya Simbassa (USA) finished 5th in 32:47.

For the women, Grace Loibach Nawowuna of Kenya pushed the pace as the front-runner until, during the last mile down Brady Street, chaser Chebet, 27, powered past the recent Boilermaker 15K winner and cruised to the victory. Chebet became the first Ugandan to win Bix, while Nawowuna finished 9 seconds later, running 36:20, with American Maggie Montoya taking third in 37:13.
