More than 300 Racers Cross Finish Line at Iconic Life Time Leadville Stage Race presented by Kenetik

Top finishers, Payson McElveen and Melisa Rollins, complete the race in under 6:00:00 and 6:52:00 hours, respectively
Leadville, CO., (July 28, 2024) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The Leadville Race Series continued this weekend with the Life Time Leadville Stage Race Presented by Kenetik. Owned and produced by Life Time (NYSE: LTH), the three day event tackles the iconic Life Time Leadville Trail 100 MTB course over three days, in a stage race format. The sold-out weekend drew more than 350 cyclists representing 36 states and five countries to Leadville, Colo., with athletes ranging in age from 15 to 81.
The Leadville Stage Race serves as a qualifier for the prestigious Leadville Trail 100 MTB presented by Kenetik, which is set for Aug. 10. A sub-11-hour finish time is required to be considered an official Stage Race Finisher.
- Stage One (Friday): Starting at Lake County Rodeo Grounds, riders tackled 3,812’ feet of elevation gain over the course of 40-miles, finishing at the Twin Lakes Dam.
- Stage Two (Saturday): A 22-mile out-and-back course, peaked at Columbine Mine at 12,496 feet, the highest point of the course.
- Stage Three (Sunday): Almost mirroring stage one, the 41-mile course starts at Twin Lakes Dam and amasses 4,501 feet.
Adding to the weekend experience, each stage was followed by post-race celebrations including dinner, awards and entertainment.
Elite cyclists including, Payson McElveen, Jack Odron, Ellen Campbell, Deanna Mayles, Kristen Legan, Melisa Rollins, and Sofia Waite participated in the Stage Race in preparation for the Leadville Trail 100 MTB, which is the next race in the Life Time Grand Prix. McElveen and Campbell both set new men’s and women’s Stage One course records, finishing on Friday in 2:07:57 and 2:26:10, respectively.

These athletes gave it their all this weekend, and it’s so inspiring to watch them come together in a small window of time to support and celebrate each other.”
