On July 12, feel the pulse of the city’s North Shore as it transforms into a runner’s paradise, offering a flat, point-to-point course that promises to be a speedster’s dream. With a whopping $34,200 prize purse on the line, the nation’s elite runners are converging to chase glory and the title of the fastest mile.

“The America’s Mile course is designed to be fast, allowing athletes from around the country to push their limits and achieve their best times,” said Troy Schooley, P3R CEO. “We’re rolling out the red carpet for a spectacular showdown of speed, strength, and spirit. This is a moment for runners to shine, to rise to the challenge.”

The stakes are high with $5,000 up for grabs for both the first man and woman to conquer the Pro Mile, and an additional $500 for the victors of the Unstoppable Mile, Masters 40-49, Masters 50-59, and Masters 60+. Dive into the full prize details here.

The country’s top runners are buzzing with excitement, ready to pit their prowess against the nation’s best, eyeing a slice of the prize pie and the chance to claim victory on this grand stage.

“My husband John and I try to find different competitive mile races to do over the summer and into the fall. This one is also easy for us to get to from Buffalo, and we know we will run against other fast masters runners,” said Amy McMahon, who will be participating for the first time. “We are looking forward to a competitive field and a fast course. We also haven’t been to Pittsburgh before so it will be fun to see the city.”

Nick Wolk, a local running sensation who has won the Richard S. Caliguiri City of Pittsburgh Great Race three times, shares his enthusiasm about racing against top competitors from across the country: “I would never miss this race. I am excited to run my fastest race of the year. This is a great chance to test my speed and feel the excitement of the Pittsburgh crowd rushing alongside some of the best runners in the country. This is the single best running event for spectators that I have experienced. Its unique format and multiple heats make it an incredible night of racing.”

Whether you’re gunning for a new personal best, cheering on your favorite runner, or basking in the vibrant atmosphere of a community brought together by the love of the sport, America’s Mile is your ticket to an experience like no other.
