Year Ten of the Teton Ogre Adventure Race to Take Place June 8th

The 10th annual Teton Ogre Adventure Race will take place in beautiful Swan Valley, Idaho, on Saturday, June 8th.

/ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – In its tenth iteration, the Teton Ogre Adventure Race will take place in beautiful Swan Valley, Idaho, this coming Saturday, June 8th.

One hundred racers from all over the country will take on the 24-hour event this year, which includes high mountain trekking through a lingering spring snowpack, class II pack rafting on a remote Idaho creek, and rugged mountain biking through some of the most beautiful terrain in the region–all while navigating from checkpoint to checkpoint using only map and compass.

The Teton Ogre is a 2024 USARA Regional Qualifier, which means that the winning 3-4 person coed team will earn an entry into the USARA National Championships happening late September in West Virginia.

“We have a strong field with a good number of fast and experienced teams so it’s going to be a fun race to follow,” said race director Abby Broughton. “With most of the maps having 80-foot contour intervals, on paper the course appears much ‘softer’ than it is. Teams who can handle relentless elevation gain will do well.”

Eighty racers will compete in the 9-hour event, which includes trekking and mountain biking, and may be shorter but is no less rugged.

The Teton Ogre Adventure Race is also part of the Rocky Mountain Adventure Series, a race series aimed at bringing more people into the sport of adventure racing and promoting all of the races in the Rocky Mountain region.

The 9-hour race is set to begin at 8:30am on Saturday, and the 24-hour race will start at 11:00am and finish by 11:00am on Sunday. Follow the 24-hour racers via the live tracking link: https://live.enabledtracking.com/ogre2024/
