Emma Pallant-Browne (GBR) And Nicolas Mann (DEU) Top the Field at the 2024 Zafiro IRONMAN 70.3 Alcúdia-Mallorca Triathon

May 12, 2024

- Nicolas Mann wins on his IRONMAN Pro Series debut, while Emma Pallant-Browne's first place pushes her into the top ten in the IRONMAN Pro Series standings - Both the female and male course records were broken on a race-perfect day in Mallorca - Both athletes secure 2,500 points and $7,500 each

MALLORCA, Spain /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The Balearic Island of Mallorca today played host to the first European IRONMAN Pro Series™ race. The race saw Germany’s Nicolas Mann take his second ever IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon win, and secure a total of 2,500 points, putting him 35th position in the IRONMAN Pro Series standings. An epic battle between Emma Pallant-Browne (GBR) and Laura Philipp (DEU) on the run saw Emma clinch the crown by just 15 seconds, moving her up to 8th in the IRONMAN Pro Series standings.

Nicolas Mann said: “I couldn’t go one second faster…the swim start was pretty good, but then I struggled a bit on the way back, then on the bike I was full gas from the beginning, and I tried to catch up to the front athletes. I finally did it and tried to overtake everyone but the last 30 minutes of the bike I was quite tired. When I got to transition, I took the wrong bag and had to change it, ensure I had my nutrition and started running and felt quite good, and just went for it, Mathis [Margirier] faded a bit, and I overtook him and went full gas to the finish line and I’m so glad that I made it!

“I thought finishing in the top five would be pretty awesome, and I think it was maybe the best field I’ve ever made, so winning here means a lot to me.” Nicolas added.

Emma Pallant-Browne said: “I think Laura [Philipp] got a course record on the bike, she was riding on fire and when I got to the run, I knew there was a big gap to try and close in with Laura and she is a very good runner, I tried to push on the first lap it was quite tough but then I got into my groove and finally passed her, but I knew there was not letting up from her, so finally only 15 seconds between the two of us. It has been amazing, and I am so happy.”
