The system’s more than 6,600 active medical staff and 33,000 employees practice the highest standards of safe, evidence-based, quality care to provide a personalized and outcome-oriented experience across more than 250 care delivery sites.
“This event not only provides a significant boost to the local economy, but it also brings people together from across the region who volunteer or just come out to watch athletes from around the world take part in one of the most grueling races of the year,” said Justin Kendrick, senior vice president and CEO for Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center and Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital. “We are delighted to continue this partnership for this great event. At Memorial Hermann, we take great pride in caring for these athletes and making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.”
“We are thrilled to continue our longstanding relationship with Memorial Hermann here with the IRONMAN Texas race,” said Matt Wikstrom, Chief Partnerships Officer at The IRONMAN Group. “Memorial Hermann has been a dedicated partner whose support has seen the IRONMAN Texas triathlon turn into one of the most popular full-distance IRONMAN events in North America since the event was first held here in The Woodlands over ten years ago. We are excited for what future holds here in Texas.”
The 2024 Memorial Hermann IRONMAN North American Championship Texas triathlon will lead athletes along a full-distance IRONMAN journey through The Woodlands with a spectacular finish line experience on Waterway Ave. The event will begin with a 2.4-mile point-to-point swim inside Lake Woodlands beginning at North Shore Park before embarking on a 112-mile two-loop bike that traverses portions of the Hardy Toll Road. The 26.2-mile marathon run allows athletes to soak in one of the most spirited spectator-lined courses on the IRONMAN circuit, with athletes racing through Hippie Hollow—an area lined with tie-dye banners, twinkling lights, and costumed performers. This early season full-distance IRONMAN event offers age group qualifying slots to the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship triathlons, with the women racing on Sept. 22, 2024, in Nice, France and the men racing on Oct. 26, 2024, in Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i.
The 2024 Memorial Hermann IRONMAN North American Championship Texas triathlon will also play host to the first full-distance IRONMAN triathlon in the recently announced IRONMAN Pro Series, which is expected to attract a stellar field of professional athletes.
