John Dzierzbicki (Chandler, Ariz.) And Maggie Walsh (Littleton, Colo.) Top Finishers At 2023 Paradox IRONMAN Arizona Triathlon, Part of The Vinfast IRONMAN North America Series

- Over 1,700 athletes converged in Arizona’s Valley of the Sun for 19th edition of Paradox IRONMAN Arizona triathlon, part of The VinFast IRONMAN North America Series
TEMPE, Ariz. /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The Valley of the Sun provided a stunning backdrop for the 19th edition of the Paradox IRONMAN® Arizona triathlon, part of the VinFast IRONMAN North America Series, on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023. John Dzierzbicki from Chandler, Arizona (M30-34 Age Group) crossed the finish line first, completing the course in a time of 8:17:01. In the women’s age group race, Maggie Walsh from Littleton, Colo. (F40-44 Age Group) battled her way to the top spot of the women with a finishing time of 9:33:48.
The 2023 Paradox IRONMAN Arizona triathlon, part of the VinFast IRONMAN North America Series, saw more than 1,700 athletes from 38 countries, regions and territories, and all 50 U.S. states converge in Tempe. Athletes began their IRONMAN journey with a single-loop, 2.4-mile swim in Tempe Town Lake. After exiting the first transition, athletes then took on the three-loop, 112-mile bike course that took them through the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community and out to the Beeline Highway, followed by a climb to the turnaround to take them back to the Transition area. The spectacular scenery kept athletes locked in as they embarked on the fast two-loop, 26.2-mile run course along the banks of Tempe Town Lake. The athletes passed through Papago Park and Rio Salado Parkway before crossing the spectator-lined finish line just outside of Tempe Beach Park.
The 2023 Paradox IRONMAN Arizona triathlon, part of the VinFast IRONMAN North American Series, offered age group qualifying slots to the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship with the women racing in Nice, France on September 22 and the men racing in Kona, Hawai`i on October 26.
The Paradox IRONMAN Arizona triathlon, part of the VinFast IRONMAN North American Series will return to Tempe, Ariz. on November 17, 2024, to celebrate its 20th edition of the race. General registration for the 2024 edition will open online to the public on Nov. 27, 2023 at www.ironman.com/im-arizona-register.
