Amy Cymerman and Matthew Sharpe take first place in New York City Triathlon

NEW YORK (Oct. 2, 2023)/ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The New York City Triathlon, produced by Life Time (NYSE: LTH) and recently acquired by Super League Triathlon, welcomed nearly 1,800 athletes from 43 states and 19 countries ranging in age from 14-80.
“We’re so proud of all the athletes who competed today. Despite required course changes, the athletes persevered and gave it their all out on the course,” said Nicole Bostick, Life Time Marketing Manager. “With each and every event, it’s always exciting to see returning athletes and first timers alike cross the finish line and complete their personal stories of triumph, resilience and inspiration.”
The pro division was equally exciting with a $19,000 prize purse on the line. Matthew Sharpe won the men’s race, which ended in a sprint to the finish between him and Michael Arishita. Amy Cymerman won the women’s race handily by over five minutes and was the 12th finisher overall.
Paratriathletes at this year’s event in the open mens and womens divisions competed for a $4,000 prize purse. Tyler McNeil won the men’s race and Sarah Heller won the women’s race.
