BMW Dallas Marathon Festival Partners With Shell Energy On Special Relay Events

DALLAS (Sept. 21, 2023) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The BMW Dallas Marathon Festival is proud to announce that Shell Energy*, will serve as the title partner of the relays at this year’s event on Dec. 10.

The Shell Energy Relays are designed to promote team building and cater to those wishing to participate in race weekend at a shorter distance. The Shell Energy Relays allow a two-person team to complete the half marathon (13.1 miles) and a five-person team to complete the marathon (26.2 miles).

“We’re thrilled to partner with Shell Energy on adding these relays to our Sunday race options for participants,” said Charles Peyton, Chairman of the Board for the BMW Dallas Marathon Festival. “This really opens up the events to a wider range of runners in the spirit of teamwork and we look forward to all of the excitement it will bring.”

The two-person relay will follow the half marathon course and be split into two legs with distances of approximately seven and six miles each. The five-person relay will follow the marathon course and offers five relay legs with varying distances between three and eight miles. The team categories will include Co-Ed, Co-Ed Masters (40+), All Male, All Male Masters (40+), All Female and All Female Masters (40+). Awards will be given for the top finishing teams for both relays.
