The Global Triathlon Awards selected Supersapiens as the 2023 winner for Outstanding Tech Product at its inaugural awards gala
Atlanta, GA – 23 February 2023 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The Global Triathlon Awards selected Supersapiens as the 2023 winner for Outstanding Tech Product at its inaugural awards gala. The GTAs were held in Nice, France by Super League Triathlon, Professional Triathlete’s Organization, World Triathlon, France’s Department 06, and Ekoi. The selection criteria were based on needing to be an innovative product, launched successfully into the community, solving an issue for users, and offering a great UX experience.
Supersapiens Founder and CEO, Phil Southerland, said, “We are thrilled to receive the Global Triathlon Award for Outstanding Tech Product. One of the driving forces to start Supersapiens was an awareness that fueling and nutrition were a black hole for many triathletes. As a result, we focused on building an ecosystem that allowed athletes to have data that validates fueling choices, which drives not only performance improvements, but also behavior changes that positively impact training, racing, and recovery. This award recognizes four years of dedication to building and launching a product that was first to market. We are dedicated to driving change and continuing to provide innovative insights for all athletes.”
Supersapiens is the global exclusive distributor of the Abbott Libre Sense Glucose Sport Biosensor, which helps athletes visualize the connection between their glucose levels and perceived energy levels and guides them on ways to adjust behaviors to optimize recovery and performance.
“We are honored that the Global Triathlon Awards recognized the innovation and experience we’ve designed for athletes. We want to help all athletes to stop guessing and instead use data to discover what fueling strategy works best for you, so you can spend more training time in the glucose zone that feels best for you to operate at peak performance,” Southerland said.
The Supersapiens ecosystem consists of the Supersapiens app, Supersapiens Energy Band, and Supersapiens Data Dashboard. In October, Supersapiens announced a groundbreaking integration with Wahoo’s New ELEMNT ROAM and BOLT that allows for real-time glucose visibility where the Abbott Libre Sense Glucose Sport Biosensor connects directly with select Wahoo devices, no longer requiring a phone to serve as the bridge. This is Supersapiens’ first integration with Wahoo. Supersapiens also integrates with select Garmin devices, Nolio app, Apple Health, and more. Supersapiens Data Dashboard allows coaches to easily monitor and gain deeper glucose insights into all their clients in one location.
Supersapiens’ athletes constantly stood on the top step of the podium in triathlon with Kristian Blummenfelt winning the 2021 IRONMAN World Championship (May 2022), the Collins Cup, IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship, and setting the World Record for an IRONMAN distance triathlon with the Sub7 Project. Fellow Norwegian Gustav Iden won the 2022 IRONMAN World Championship (October 2022), IRONMAN Hawaii, Challenge Family – The Championship, and PTO Canadian Open. Matthew Marquardt dominated at the IRONMAN World Championship and took the overall win for amateurs. Emma Pallant-Browne had a dominant season winning the IRONMAN 70.3 European Championship and five additional 70.3 IRONMAN events.
