The world’s first glucose monitoring ecosystem for athletes to make its CES debut
ATLANTA, 16 December 2022/ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Supersapiens, the world’s first glucose management system for athletes, powered by Abbott Libre Sense Glucose Sport Biosensor, is announcing that it will be showcased at CES 2023 Eureka Park (Las Vegas, USA) from January 5-8. Supersapiens, which is developing innovative technology and insights around glucose data to help athletes to make more informed nutrition decisions, is eager to present this impactful technology at the annual consumer technology expo.
“CES is known as the most influential startup event worldwide. Supersapiens is honored to have a spot on this global stage to showcase our innovative system,” said Supersapiens Founder and CEO Phil Southerland. “At Supersapiens, we are dedicated to empowering athletes to optimize their energy as a means to maximize their performance. [1] Supersapiens is an industry-first for sports performance and we believe it’ll redefine how athletes approach fueling and recovery. We are honored to have the opportunity to have the athletic community as our platform to share the value of glucose visibility with the world.”
Supersapiens is the global exclusive distributor of the Abbott Libre Sense Glucose Sport Biosensor, which helps athletes visualize the connection between their glucose levels and perceived energy levels and guides them on ways to adjust behaviors to improve recovery and performance.
The Supersapiens ecosystem consists of the Supersapiens app, Supersapiens Energy Band, and Supersapiens Data Dashboard. In October, Supersapiens announced a groundbreaking integration with Wahoo’s New ELEMNT ROAM and BOLT that allows for real-time glucose visibility where the Abbott Libre Sense Glucose Sport Biosensor connects directly with the most recent Wahoo devices, no longer requiring a phone to serve as the bridge. Supersapiens also integrates with select Garmin devices, Nolio app, Apple Health, and more.
“At Supersapiens, we are constantly pushing the boundaries to provide athletes with truly meaningful and actionable glucose data through real-time visibility. As a result, our data interpretation tools are leading the future of fueling, energy management, and sports performance. We are especially pleased with the feedback from coaches and nutritionists, who are adopting our platform to help their clients reach their goals,” said Southerland.
Showcasing its ability to support athletes pushing the boundaries of human performance, Supersapiens’ athletes had a standout 2022 season. Team Jumbo-Visma, who serves as Supersapiens’ longest continuous sports partnership, dominated this year’s Tour de France. Jonas Vingegaard won the overall while the squad earned 8 stage wins at the Tour de France / Tour de France Femmes (29% of all men’s and 25% of all women’s stages) and took home the overall Sprinter’s Classification (men’s and women’s) and the Mountain Classification (men’s). Another massive highlight was Eliud Kipchoge setting the Marathon World Record (2:01:09) at the Berlin Marathon.
Supersapiens’ athletes constantly stood on the top step of the podium in triathlon with Kristian Blummenfelt winning the 2021 IRONMAN World Championship (May 2022), the Collins Cup, IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship, and setting the World Record for an IRONMAN distance triathlon with the Sub7 Project. Fellow Norwegian Gustav Iden won the 2022 IRONMAN World Championship (October 2022), IRONMAN Hawaii, Challenge Family – The Championship, and PTO Canadian Open. Matthew Marquardt dominated at the IRONMAN World Championship and took the overall win for amateurs. Emma Pallant-Browne had a dominant season winning the IRONMAN 70.3 European Championship and five additional 70.3 IRONMAN events.
