After a 6-Year Hiatus, The Milkman Triathlon returns as Madison's premier triathlon in June
Madison, WI /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Madison may be known for the University of WI-Madison and its incredible dairylands in the area, but it is also known as one of the most active and fit cities in the United States. The Milkman Triathlon will serve as Madison’s premier endurance event in June as it plays host to a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike ride, and 13.1-mile run.
“Race Day Events has always held the Milkman Triathlon close to its heart and is excited to bring this amazing event back in after a 6-year hiatus”, In 2016, the Milkman Triathlon had upwards of 1,200 participants. With Ironman’s 70.3 moving to September, The Milkman Triathlon is the perfect prep event or race to use as training for other events later in the summer.
“Triathletes can expect a tour of some of Madison’s most scenic areas. The race starts and finishes at Olin Park on the beautiful Lake Monona. Athletes will enjoy a well-marked, one-loop swim course, a bike ride on Madison’s incredible paved bike paths and scenic country roads, and finish with running a lap on the Lake Monona Lake Loop. This course shows off some of the best areas of Madison and the surrounding area and we are thrilled to bring this back to our great triathlon community. We look forward to welcoming you all back for an epic event on June 18th”, said Abbey VanValkenburg, Race Director, and Vice President of Race Day Events.
Wisconsin will always be America’s Dairyland. Race Day Events had no other choice than to bring back the Wisconsin Milkman Triathlon. Registration will be opening on October 3rd!
