Thousands of Participants Took to the Streets and Boardwalk of Atlantic City for The Inaugural Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Atlantic City

Dennis Kipkosgei and Hirut Guangul claim victories in the fourth event of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Elite Half Marathon Series
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (May 15, 2022) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Thousands of runners and walkers alike took to the streets and the famous Atlantic City boardwalk this weekend for the inaugural Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Atlantic City. Bringing the Fun to the Run® with music and community support through the event, participants took on a 5K and half marathon distance that ran along the coast of Atlantic City and down America’s original boardwalk. During the fourth Rock ‘n’ Roll Elite Half Marathon Series event, it was Dennis Kipkosgei a native of Kenya currently living in the United States and Hirut Guangul of New York that claimed victories.
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Elite half marathon series offered a shared $10,000 elite prize purse and Elite Beat Rankings (EBR) points to the top three male and female finishers. Dennis Kipkosgei took the overall victory of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Atlantic City Half Marathon also earning the 50 EBR points with a finishing time of 1:04:21. Collecting 44 EBR points with a second-place finish was Trevor Conde (Bethlehem, Pa.) with a finishing time of 1:07:48 and Arturs Bareikis (Crestwood, Ill.) followed in third place finishing at 1:10:40 and scoring 39 points. Hirut Guangul (New York, N.Y.) followed up her win at Rock ‘n’ Roll Washington D.C. with a victory in the women’s race at Rock ‘n’ Roll Atlantic City earning 50 points with a finishing time of 1:14:46. Jane Bareikis (Crestwood, Ill.) followed Guangul in second with a finishing time of 1:16:06, earning 44 points. Sofie Schunk (Albuquerque, N.M.) rounded out the podium with a time of 1:19:25, earning 39 points. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Elite Half Marathon competition offers world-class runners the opportunity to showcase their talents in eight cities in North America, culminating with a grand finale at the 2023 edition of Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas. Several local bands performed live on band stages along the route interspersed with crowd support to put a Beat in the Feet of the participants. The party wasn’t only on the course – runners were treated to a high-energy, note-perfect, and visually accurate musical experience of Bruce in the USA.
