Revelshine Sustainable Wines Partners With New WineShine Half Marathon
November 18, 2021
The athlete-owned innovator will showcase its wines at the inaugural race
NAPA, Calif. /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The WineShine Half Marathon is thrilled to welcome Revelshine as the sustainable-premium-wine partner for its 2022 inaugural event. Revelshine, a premium, world-class wine in a sustainable, portable and recyclable aluminum bottle, will provide a bottle of wine to each half-marathon participant in the July 16, 2022 race in addition to pouring during the post-race wine festival.
WineShine’s budding partnership with Revelshine builds on the organization’s growing portfolio of environmentally focused partners.
“Aligning with like-minded brands is central to the ethos of the WineShine Half Marathon,” said Michelle La Sala, race director of the WineShine Half Marathon and president of Blistering Pace Race Management. “By partnering with Revelshine, we’re able to bring a new world-class running and wine experience to the Napa Valley while keeping sustainability front and center.”
Founded by Jake Bilbro, fourth-generation Sonoma County winemaker, and a dozen co-founder outdoor athletes who share not only a passion for wine, but also a thirst for adventure and celebration, Revelshine is meant to be poured and enjoyed where a glass bottle can’t go. “Wine is meant to be shared in moments of celebration, and some of the most memorable moments happen outdoors,” says Bilbro. “This is why we created Revelshine, to commemorate amazing days and inspiring events and do it all while enjoying quality wine with forward-thinking sustainability at its core.” He continues, “We are proud to be the premium wine partner for the 2022 WineShine event, where there will be lots to celebrate at the end of the hard-earned race.”
Revelshine is available in three California-blend varietals — rosé, white and red — in infinitely recyclable, unbreakable bottles. In order to help protect our outdoors, Revelshine has partnered with 1% for the Planet to pledge a portion of their annual sales to environmental causes and employs organic farming practices for vineyard soil health.
In conjunction with WineShine, Revelshine will also co-host Ambassador Deena Kastor, Olympic medalist and American record holder in the marathon, at the 2022 event.
The WineShine Half Marathon & 3.9-Miler is owned by Napa Valley Marathon, Inc., a 501(c)3 organization that helps to fund important local community causes, and operated by Blistering Pace Race Management. The inaugural race, which starts and finishes at Silverado Resort & Spa, will be held on July 16, 2022. After the race, participants will gather on the grounds of Silverado Resort to enjoy a complimentary wine tasting from a sampling of local vintners, listen to live music and celebrate their finish.
Registration for this wine-themed event is currently open. To learn more and sign up, visit wineshinehalfmarathon.org.
