TrainerRoad Announces Hiring of New CFO, VP of Engineering, and New International Office

The latest editions to TrainerRoad’s leadership team bring decades of SaaS, technology, and international experience to the data-driven cycling training company. A new international office in South Africa will provide enhanced service and support to athletes, faster.
RENO, Nevada (September 22, 2021) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/– TrainerRoad, cycling’s most complete & effective training system and market leader in making athletes faster, announced the hiring of Madelein Van Zyl as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Stephanie Simons as Vice President (VP) of Engineering, and the opening of an international office in Stellenbosch, South Africa. All of the moves support TrainerRoad’s goal to strengthen leadership, expand the company’s offerings and continue developing cutting-edge, data-driven training systems for cyclists and triathletes.

Madelein Van Zyl is an experienced international accounting and financial management professional and an experienced leader for companies across software as a service (SaaS), banking, financial services, and audit sectors. Van Zyl joins TrainerRoad to oversee the company’s finances reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. She is an avid cyclist and triathlete with a passion for maintaining health and happiness through physical activity.
Van Zyl will also be based out of TrainerRoad’s first international office, located in Stellenbosch, South Africa. The new location will eventually be home to expanded support and testing teams dedicated to serving TrainerRoad athletes in over 150 countries and providing real-time support service whenever possible.

Stephanie Simons brings nearly 30 years of UI/UX design, web development, and leadership experience to TrainerRoad. Before joining, she served in multiple roles including Director of Engineering at Drip, an eCommerce marketing automation company. Simons will oversee the management of TrainerRoad’s growing engineering team, with emphasis on expanding strengths-based leadership, talent diversity, and career growth opportunities within the company.
