As projects and clientele expand, the event company is pleased to offer increased expertise.
NAPA, CALIFORNIA—Blistering Pace Race Management is thrilled to announce that Hillary Fujii has joined the growing staff as Director of Marketing, bringing valuable perspective and expertise to the organization’s expanding list of clients and events.
Fujii began her career in race marketing in 2015 with Destination Races, based in Sonoma. During her time at DR, Fujii was responsible for marketing and communications for the popular seven race wine-country half marathon series, which featured events across North America. Fujii’s expertise resulted in increased registration numbers across the series during her tenure. She was also instrumental in developing and promoting DR’s first beer-themed event, the IPA 10K, which debuted in 2017.
In 2018, Fujii was hired as the Marketing and Communications Manager for the Big Sur Marathon Foundation. A Monterey Peninsula native, Fujii played a large role in the Foundation’s rebranding efforts, while also promoting the world-renowned Big Sur International Marathon events and the Monterey Bay Half Marathon. Under Fujii’s leadership, both events achieved sell-out field sizes, with April’s events selling out in record time.
“I am beyond excited to join Michelle and the Blistering Pace Race Management team,” Fujii said. “Michelle and her team are well-known in the industry for maintaining a high standard of professionalism and I look forward to fully immersing myself in the growing list of events and services in the BPRM portfolio.”
Since La Sala founded BPRM five years ago, the organization has served some of the world’s biggest and most prestigious races, including the TCS New York City Marathon, Bank of American Chicago Marathon, Big Sur International Marathon, Napa Valley Marathon, and the Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Half Marathon. From registration, marketing, and sponsorship, to operations, course design, and now virtual race concepting, BPRM handles specific areas of need or full race management.
“Having worked beside Hillary for many years on races in Northern California, I am absolutely ecstatic to welcome her to our growing BPRM team,” La Sala said. “I know what an asset Hillary will be to our and clients and the events we manage for them. Her expertise and knowledge of marketing in the running industry coupled with her creativity is unparalleled. I know she will be an asset in enhancing the brands of our clients and driving growth and I can’t wait to get started together.”
