CADEX Wins 2021 TAIPEI CYCLE d&i Gold Award
March 1, 2021
The Boost saddle is one of just five products to receive this prestigious recognition.
(March 1, 2020) —CADEX, the maker of high-performance cycling products, announced today that it has won a TAIPEI CYCLE d&i Gold Award for its lightweight carbon Boost saddle. This year, the TAIPEI CYCLE Gold Award went to just five brands whose products demonstrate an outstanding level of forward-thinking innovation and design quality. At just 138 grams, the Boost saddle is an ultra-light carbon composite saddle that offers the rider incredible power transfer while also delivering exceptional comfort.
The d&i jurors called the Boost saddle a “beautiful execution of a complex product that balances aesthetics, structure and comfort.” They further praised the saddle saying, “typically a saddle at this weight would feel like sitting on a block of plastic, but the CADEX Boost distributes power evenly, resulting in a comfort that is unique for a premium ultra-light saddle.”
The TAIPEI CYCLE d&i Award is one of the international cycling industry’s most highly respected design competitions. It started in 2013 to create an official seal of quality and serve as a benchmark for measuring design and innovation accomplishments. The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Taiwan Bicycle Association (TBA) present the TAIPEI CYCLE d&i Awards, while the team at International Forum Design GmbH (iF) implements the competition.
“To be among the winners of this year’s five gold d&i awards is an incredible honor and a major accomplishment for not only those who developed the Boost saddle but also for all of us on the CADEX team,” commented Jeff Schneider, Head of Product and Marketing at CADEX. “The jury recognized exactly what we set out to do in the development of the Boost saddle through our innovative two-piece composite frame that eliminates unwanted flex and maximizes power transfer. The result is a saddle with all of the comfort of heavier saddles, but in an innovative, ultra-light package.”
The Boost saddle utilizes advanced forged composite technology to create a stiff carbon composite frame that eliminates unwanted flex and maximum power transfer. An integrated rail design also eliminates unwanted pressure points and helps to dissipate road vibration. Free-flowing expanded thermoplastic polyurethane (ETPU) particles also reduce pressure points by redirecting weight across many different contact points, enhancing comfort. Boost saddle is available from authorized CADEX retailers and www.cadex-cycling.com for an SRP of $299.99.
In addition to the Boost saddle, CADEX offers cyclists several high-performance cycling components, including 42mm and 65mm hookless tubeless and tubular carbon road WheelSystems, 4-Spoke Aero and Aero Disc WheelSystems for TT and triathlon applications, as well as Race and Classics tubeless tires.
