Introducing: The Rideaway Experience, a New Series of Experiential Off-Road Cycling Camps in 2021 from Life Time
February 17, 2021
The Rideaway series aims to redefine the guided off-road cycling experience.
BOULDER, Colo., (February 17, 2021)– From the event directors of UNBOUND Gravel, Leadville Race Series and Big Sugar NWA comes The Rideaway Experience, a brand new off-road cycling camp series produced by Life Time. Each camp is designed to offer riders an inclusive environment focused on adventure, culture, and community.
The first three cycling camps will take place in the summer and fall of 2021 in renowned cycling locations including Bentonville, Ark., Boulder, Colo., and Zion, Utah. Camp goers will be immersed in a fully supported, all-encompassing riding adventure piloted by world class guides and focused on building connections on and off the bike. Camps are limited to 30 participants, making them intimate and close knit for each attendee, and are being introduced at a time when everyone is longing for human interaction and safe ways to re-engage and reunite with others. Life Time has identified a unique, fully-catered glamping experience in each Rideaway Experience destination where attendees will call homebase during their weekend adventure.
“As an organization who builds connections through event experiences, we wanted to create something to fill the void from this past year. In an effort to continue to build meaningful relationships in a different capacity and stay connected with our growing communities the idea for the Rideaway Experience was born.” said Ryan Cross, Off-Road Cycling & Trail Running Marketing Manager at Life Time. “You don’t have to worry about any of the details, we are handling lodging, nutrition, routes, entertainment, meals and photography. You just need to show up ready to have fun and ride bikes.”
Open to riders of all ability levels, the inaugural Rideaway Experience series provides a departure from the normal start/finish line events and training camps that Life Time is renowned for. These experiences are aimed at adventure seekers looking to build community while getting outside of their comfort zone. Set to the backdrop of lively, culturally-rich bike communities, this new offering was created to reinvent what it means to participate in a Life Time event and lower the barrier of entry for people looking to jump on a bike and embark on a new kind of quest. Exploring new trails, glamping outdoors, learning new tricks, making lifelong connections and pushing your comfort level can all be expected during a Rideaway Experience long weekend.
April 29 to May 2, 2021 – Bentonville, Ark.
The first camp touches down in the “mountain bike capital of the world”, where riders will get to take in the best that Bentonville has to offer over the course of three full days of mountain biking and exploring the town. Participants will be led by guides which include Gabbi Adams and Mountain Bike Hall of Famer Nat Ross, who are both Race Directors for Big Sugar NWA Gravel, Life Time’s newest gravel event offering. Expect epic rides on Bentonville’s best trail networks, great food and drinks at local restaurants and a slew of other off-the-bike activities. Basecamp for Rideaway Bentonville will be hosted at Coler MTB Preserve, a recently completed state-of-the-art facility located right by some of the best mountain biking trails in the area, and a short distance from downtown Bentonville.
June 10 to 13, 2021 – Boulder, Colo.
The next option on the Rideaway Experience tour will be in the “gravel mecca of the Rockies”. The recent surge in gravel cycling has shown just how incredible Boulder can be for off-road cycling experiences. Lead guides Amy Charity and Ryan Cross will guide riders around miles of quiet dirt roads and trails, on some of the best gravel roads Colorado has to offer. Rideaway Boulder participants will stay at the Boulder Adventure Lodge, located just three miles from Pearl Street and downtown.
November 11 to 14, 2021 – Zion, Utah
The third Rideaway Experience will be a fall excursion to the outskirts of Zion National Park, which is known for its “other-worldly gravel.” One of Utah’s best kept secrets, the desert landscape is a gravel rider’s dream. Lead guide Burke Swindlehurst, founder of Crusher in the Tushar, has utilized his decades of off-road cycling experience to build three days of riding that will leave camp goers in absolute awe. With vast desert landscapes and stunning 360-degree views of red rock towers, Rideaway Zion will be nothing short of epic. Participant’s home base will be at the Zion Basecamp.
Pricing for each Rideaway off-road cycling camp begins at $899, which includes everything except travel to and from the weekend destination. Registration for the Bentonville Rideaway is now open.
