100%® is #100PercentTogether with the Outdoor Industry
May 13, 2020
All-new “Scrub the Curve” collection features two new t-shirt designs, with all proceeds benefiting the Outdoor Foundation, the giving arm of Outdoor Industry Association.
SAN DIEGO, California – May 13, 2020 – 100%®, the San Diego-based sports performance company, continues to give back to those in need during this pandemic, announcing today that it will donate 20 percent of online sales proceeds throughout the month of May to the Outdoor Foundation, the giving arm of Outdoor Industry Association. The funds will go directly to their new initiative, Thrive Outside, and focus on getting kids and their families outside throughout several communities, including the backyard of 100%, San Diego, California. 100% will also donate all of the proceeds of its new “Scrub the Curve” t-shirt collection, which features two unique designs to promote unity and togetherness in overcoming this crisis.
Today’s donation announcement, paired with the $67,000 donated to the CDC Foundation’s Combat Coronavirus fundraiser throughout March and April, and the donation of more than $390,000 in PPE protective eyewear and goggles to hospitals and first responders, brings 100%’s total COVID-19 response close to a half-million dollars.
“During this unprecedented time, we asked ourselves ‘how can we help?’” Said 100% CEO Ludo Boinnard. “We turned to our tagline—How much effort do you give? —and realized that it’s more relevant now than ever before. Everyone in the outdoor industry has been affected by this crisis, and it’s more important that we all give what we can, especially to our local community and stick together.”
From the onset of this crisis, 100% has been committed to providing aid to those most in need. In March, more than 1,000 pairs of high-quality performance PPE eyewear were donated to front-line workers in hard-hit areas. 100% provided healthcare workers in Spain with protective goggles and joined forces with “Goggles for Docs,” a donation program that has provided tens of thousands of goggles to fulfill the immense need throughout US hospitals. 100% is also part of the Brands x Better coalition. Teaming up with over 120 other brands, we are finding strength in numbers and collectively dedicating resources to help the social and economic impact of COVID-19.
“We know that more challenges lie ahead of us, and we’re committed to finding ways to make a positive contribution during this new normal,” Boinnard said. “As a privately held company, we concentrate on the long term but can be nimble enough to react to the world around us, and this serves us well. We’ll continue to help our industry stand together—at whatever distance—to lift the entire community up.”
