Insight into the habits, preferences and trends of the U.S. distance runner free to download for Running USA members

DETROIT – The results of the 2020 National Runner Survey from Running USA are now available and Running USA members can download the survey report for free.

“As we grapple with ongoing conditions that challenge our industry, it’s good to remain focused on the core values of our participants and use that information to deliver positive experiences and messages,” said Rich Harshbarger, CEO of Running USA. “The National Runner Survey includes pertinent data about relevant trends for right now, such as virtual runs.”

Later this week, an in-depth infographic will share virtual run insight gleaned from the survey.

The National Runner Survey also shares key information about the typical distance runner, what distances they run, how many races they participate in each year, and what running brands earn their consumer loyalty.

Initially launched in 2007, the Running USA National Runner Survey is distributed electronically to running event participants across the country.

Areas of focus in this year’s study, include:

  • Demographics
  • Event participation
  • Runner habits and preferences
  • Technology
  • Social media use related to running
  • Sports and fitness products

Use the National Runner Survey to connect with runners, grow and improve your event, find what motivates and inspires runners, understand the changing influence of technology and social media on the sport and much more.
