GFNY Global Cycling Marathon series offers 23 World Class events in 2020

NEW YORK CITY – New destinations have been added to the GFNY 2020 Calendar, taking the total number of World events to 23. The additions include a third race in the United States (Florida), races in the capitals Buenos Aires and Quito as well as Jamaica.
GFNY, the largest Cycling Marathon Brand, features a total of 23 GFNY World races in the 2020 calendar season. They include the GFNY World Championship in NYC and five regional championships in Asia, Europe, North America, South America and the Middle East – Africa.
The 2020 season opens this weekend, February 23, returning to the Island of the Gods in Bali for the second edition of GFNY BALI. A perfect winter blues escape, Bali showcases its pure beauty on a course that takes in coastal roads and inland climbs.
March Madness gets underway on the 8th with the second edition of GFNY MONTERREY. The race begins from the famous Cintermex, from there riders will race through the heart of Monterrey and finish in beautiful nature at the top of Chipinque Mountain.
The best of South American cyclists will battle for the title and crown of South American Champion on March 15 at GFNY PUNTA DEL ESTE – SOUTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP.
A double header on March 22 sees GFNY go to Colombia for the sixth annual GFNY COLOMBIA. Riders will compete on a challenging course at altitude, including a climb up to La Cuchilla, making GFNY Colombia the world’s highest GFNY. Taking place on the same day, GFNY REPUBLICA DOMINICANA will return for its second year. A GFNY beach destination with the start and finish in Punta Cana.
The GFNY Middle East – African Championship is contested at the popular GFNY JERUSALEM on April 3rd. The course, on fully-closed-to-traffic roads takes riders on a historical experience past famous sights before finishing at the Israel Aquarium.
GFNY returns to Italy for the GFNY ITALIA – EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP on April 5th. Held in the heart of Tuscany, GFNY Italia offers a tough course on historic ground. 25km of the 110km-long race are held on strade bianche, Italy’s centuries-old unpaved white roads.
On May 9th, GFNY CHILE starts out from the renowned Veramonte winery and takes riders through vineyards and along the Pacific Ocean. The now world-famous Muro de Tunquen is the ultimate rider challenge with an incline over 25%.
2020 celebrates a decade of GFNY racing at the tenth annual GFNY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP NYC. On May 17th, riders from over 90 countries come together for the world’s most international cycling race, in the birthplace of GFNY, New York City.
On June 7th, the second edition of GFNY SANTA FE offers a challenging race course at altitude, with a long climb to the finish at Ski Santa Fe.
The third edition of GFNY COSTA RICA takes place on July 5th. Riders race on an undulating course with several steep climbs through lush tropical rainforest at the base of Arenal Volcano and along Lake Arenal.
The GFNY European Championship takes place on August 30th at an inaugural course in the French Alps. GFNY ALPS VAUJANY will test the best of the mountain climbers over a course that has covers 4000 meters of climbing and features legendary Col de la Croix de Fer.
On the same day, GFNY is also in South America for GFNY ARGENTINA in Argentina’s cycling capital San Juan.
The third GFNY PHILIPPINES will be held in Iloilo on September 20. The local Filipino excitement for cycling guarantees a great cultural experience for riders heading to south east Asia.
GFNY returns to Cascais in Portugal on October 4th for GFNY PORTUGAL. The carefully crafted course is one that celebrates Portugal’s rich history taking riders on a journey back in time alongside spectacular landscapes.
A busy October opens with the second edition of GFNY ECUADOR in Manta on the 10th. The inaugural GFNY URUGUAY COLONIA takes place one day later on the 11th. GFNY Colonia is the second event in Uruguay after Punta del Este.
A double header on October 25th showcases the third GFNY PANAMA in Playa Blanca and the inaugural GFNY FLORIDA. Taking place in Sebring, GFNY Florida becomes the 3rd GFNY event in the United States.
The 7th annual GFNY COZUMEL on November 8th will host 3,200 riders at Latin America’s largest cycling race. It’s a perfect end-of-season challenge and warm-weather getaway – and a great GFNY party both on, and off, the bike.
The inaugural GFNY BUENOS AIRES on November 22nd in the heart of the South American capital will be an exhilarating race with the full course exclusively closed for the race.
Another capital will host GFNY a week later: unlike Buenos Aires, however, GFNY QUITO will offer a challenging course at high altitude with a cobbled climb through the historic part of the city and fast racing past modern time skyscrapers.
2020 ends with the inaugural GFNY JAMAICA on December 6th. Riders will get to experience a predominantly flat course along the North Coast highway with stunning sea views combined with turns inland to experience the island’s panoramic interior.

GFNY World Championship NYC
The 10th annual GFNY World Championship New York will be held on May 17, 2020. The race features the world’s most international peloton with riders from over 90 countries. Athletes take on a challenging 100-mile route from NYC to Bear Mountain to Fort Lee to compete against each other, the clock and themselves in a personal endurance challenge.
