Julie Kuliecza Takes The Helm Of The Growing Nonprofit

(Boulder, CO). The Amy D. Foundation announced Julie Kuliecza as the Executive Director of the nonprofit dedicated to building opportunity, participation, and equality for women in the sport of cycling.

Kuliecza, a paralegal, professional cyclist and former managing director of a nonprofit, has previously served as a grant writer for the Amy D. Foundation. Prior to Kuliecza’s appointment, managing the Foundation was dispersed among the current board members. Thanks to a generous grant provided by the Rapha Foundation, which looks to expand cycling’s impact to underserved communities, the position of Executive Director was established with the goal of sustainably  expanding The Amy D. Foundation’s road, cyclocross and mountain bike programs.

“All of us at the Amy D. Foundation see this as an opportunity to continue to build momentum and have a larger impact on women’s cycling and are thrilled to have Kuliecza lead us in this next stage of growth,” said Daniel Dombroski, founder and president of the organization. “I am really excited about this next step for the foundation and can’t wait to see where we go.”

Kuliecza’s hiring comes as the foundation implements a plan of strategic growth in grant programs, development and outreach and continues to build on the successes of the pro road, cyclocross and mountain bike programs.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead The Amy D. Foundation. I’ve been afforded many opportunities in my own career and I am incredibly excited to develop the younger generation of women looking to participate in cycling. Our efforts will continue to focus on the vast numbers of underserved young women in mountain biking, road cycling, and cyclocross. I look forward to continuing to develop the vision of the foundation and build on the tremendous momentum of the past six years,” Kuliecza said.
