November 21, 2021

November 21, 2021 – Norfolk, VIRGINIA /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Nearly 3,500 athletes were treated to a running tour of Norfolk for the 8th Annual Chartway Norfolk Harbor Race Weekend presented by Bon Secours In Motion.  After hosting a virtual event in 2021 due to COVID-19, the festivity and excitement were infectious, and could be felt by all the participants along with volunteers, neighbors and spectators that showed their support for the event.

“There is something magical about the Chartway Norfolk Harbor race weekend.  The combination of the energy that our participants bring to the event, along with the excitement surrounding the grand illumination of Downtown Norfolk, all creates a festive vibe that makes a perfect event weekend,” said Amy Frostick, co-owner of J&A Racing.  “We have enjoyed many years of working with the City of Norfolk to host a safe and fun event for all involved.  And in partnership with Chartway and the We Promise Foundation, we have also been able to help provide life-changing experiences that bring joy, hope and smiles to children facing medical hardship or illness.  We really can’t think of a better way to kick off the holiday season!”

With ages ranging from 3-79 years old, this event offers a race distance for the whole family.  The race attracts visitors from all seven local cities, the entire state of Virginia, and over 37 states from across the US.

Amanda Pearson of Norfolk, Virginia enjoyed the weekend with friends from local run clubs.  “The weather this weekend was awesome!  The cheer zones really helped keep the energy up, and the finish line by the water was incredible!  It has been 2 years since we got to do this, so it felt great to be back running in Norfolk!”
