Dunsborough, located three hours from Perth, offers unique terrain through Meelup Regional Park, featuring turquoise waters and diverse trails. Respectful engagement with the land and local culture is integral, reflecting the deep ties the Noongar People have with this region. Janet Hayden, former Chairperson of Western Australia’s Aboriginal Advisory Council, emphasizes this connection: “We see ourselves as part of nature and all things natural as part of us.”
XTERRA Asia-Pacific defending champions Hannah-Lee Young (AUS) and Kieran McPherson (NZL) return to defend their titles, challenged by reigning XTERRA Australia champions Lizzie Orchard (NZL) and Ben Forbes (AUS).
Local elite Kristen Gardner highlights the community spirit: “When XTERRA comes to town, mountain bikes take over and bakeries are packed. Kids, parents, professional athletes, and groups of friends are all out there having a go. Kangaroos live right there, so you’ll be riding and running alongside them—it doesn’t get more Aussie than that.”
Event partners include the Government of Western Australia, Tourism WA, City of Busselton, and Rapid Ascent, ensuring a welcoming experience for competitors and spectators.
