OTTAWA, Ontario, Canada (July 25, 2024) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – IRONMAN has announced that general registration for the 2025 IRONMAN® Canada-Ottawa triathlon has officially sold out of general registration over a year in advance of the new event. For those still trying to gain entry into the new event, a limited number of entries remain available through The IRONMAN Foundation and Enhanced Athlete Event Experiences powered by NIRVANA. The first edition of the IRONMAN Canada-Ottawa triathlon, part of the VinFast IRONMAN North America Series is scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 3, 2025

“We are excited to see Ottawa immediately become a highly desirable race venue in such a short period of time,” said Keats McGonigal, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, North America for The IRONMAN Group. “When we first identified Ottawa as a potential host location, we knew that this beautiful city would be a compelling race destination that athletes would find exciting. We can’t wait for our athletes to come and experience some of what makes Ottawa so special and a truly unique IRONMAN race location next summer.”

For athletes who may have missed out on registering for the 2025 IRONMAN Canada-Ottawa triathlon, regional events such as the 2025 Athletic Brewing IRONMAN Lake Placid triathlon are currently open for registration. Additionally, athletes looking to best prepare for the 2025 IRONMAN Canada-Ottawa triathlon should consider registering for IRONMAN® 70.3® events in 2025, including the IRONMAN 70.3 Western Massachusetts triathlon on June 8, the IRONMAN 70.3 Pennsylvania Happy Valley triathlon on June 15, the IRONMAN 70.3 Mont Tremblant triathlon on June 22, and the IRONMAN 70.3 Musselman triathlon on July 13. The 2025 IRONMAN Canada-Ottawa triathlon will begin with a 3.8km (2.4-mile) two-loop swim in the Ottawa River from Britannia Beach and Park. From there athletes will embark on a 2.75 loop bike course using the completely closed parkways that pass through the city of Ottawa made available by the National Capital Commission. Once through the 180km bike course, the athletes will transition to the run in the downtown core of Ottawa and start their marathon from the base of Parliament Hill. The two-loop course will utilize some of the same completely closed parkways the bike used but extended beyond those areas once again to trace along the Rideau Canal and the streets in front of Parliament. Athletes will enjoy a truly urban setting with a healthy dose of scenery along the Ottawa River and the Rideau Canal. The IRONMAN Canada-Ottawa triathlon, part of the VinFast IRONMAN North America Series, will offer qualifying slots to the 2026 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship® triathlons.
